The Francis Marion celebrates the near completion of modernizing and redecorating all guest rooms and common areas under the new leadership. One major change is the opening of the The Swamp Fox Dining Room. An intimate fine dining venue, it seated 57 people in an old Charleston atmosphere with a lofty, classic columned masterpiece. Another notable change was that the popular coffee shop overlooking Marion Square was completely remodeled and renamed Sugar ‘N Spice. General Manager, Frank M. Woods, announces at the “Open House” party, “…Better than ever service, comfort and conveniences for our guests.”
